Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What provisions for food are available? A: Please ask about food options when booking a hunt.
Q: What climbing gear do I need to bring? A: Fourteen 20 ft. ladder stands are installed. You may bring your own climbing stand if you prefer.
Q: What personal items do I need to bring? A: The lodge provides towels and bed linens. Scent-free laundry soap and scent-free body soap are available for your use. Please bring slippers to wear inside the lodge.
Q: Could I come the evening before the scouting date? A: Please check with us before planning to come the evening before the scouting date. This is usually possible for the first and second week of hunters.
Q: What appliances are available for use? A: A washer and dryer are located in the lodge and are available for hunters to use. There is a refrigerator in the garage that is designated for hunters. There is a TV with local services available both upstairs and downstairs. We have neither cable nor satellite connection. DVD and VCR movies are available for your entertainment.
Q: What communications services are available? A: The lodge does not have a land based telephone nor is there any Internet service. Walkie Talkies are available if hunters wish to use them. US Cellular has great reception in our area.
Q: What transportation services are available? A: Most hunters prefer to bring their own vehicles. However, General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport is about an hour from the lodge and Quad City International Airport at Rock Island/Moline is about ninety minutes from the lodge. If a hunter has access to another hunter's vehicle that we can drive or wishes to pay gas mileage for us to use our vehicle and if our circumstances will allow, we may be able to transport them to the Peoria Airport. This will have to be on an individual case by case decision.
